Personal Development 2026 – 2027 At the very heart of Lathom High School is our commitment to supporting our students’ personal development. We believe that true education nurtures the whole person—equipping young people with the essential life skills, knowledge, behaviours and habits they need to become successful lifelong learners and to lead safe, healthy and productive lives. Our Personal Development curriculum sits at the centre of this vision, carefully designed to develop the character, resilience and confidence our students need to thrive in an ever-changing world. Through this vital curriculum, we address the real-world issues that matter most to young people today. From physical and mental wellbeing to digital safety, healthy relationships, financial literacy and careers education, we provide a safe and supportive environment for students to explore important topics and develop strong personal values. In doing so, students learn to care for themselves and others, building the emotional intelligence and self-awareness that underpin lifelong wellbeing and success. Our Personal Development curriculum is delivered explicitly through tutor time, assemblies, subject lessons, weekly timetabled PD lessons and our three PROUD enrichment days, ensuring a consistent and coherent experience for all students. In addition, we offer a rich and diverse enrichment programme shaped by student voice.
